banana bread

Food:
Starbucks Banana Bread

Recipe:

2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
¼ salt
1 egg
1 c. sugar
½ c. vegetable oil
2 tbsp buttermilk
½ tsp vanilla extract
3 ripe medium-large bananas (mashed)
½ c. + 1/3 c. chopped walnuts

Outcome:


My family makes banana bread pretty often since my dad won’t eat the bananas once the black dots appear on the peel. We usually use a different recipe that I like better, but my mom has been sticking to this one lately.

The one thing I like about this one that beats our regular is that right after coming out of the oven the outside is crispy. like that warm fresh out of the oven crispy… yummm. But after that when it’s cooled down and such too bread-y for my preference. I guess it does taste like the one at Starbucks…

Anyways, we cut down the amount of sugar to half but I guess we ran out of pastry flour so my mom used whole wheat all-purpose flour. I recommend DON’T DO IT. You can really tell it’s whole wheat and the bread gets too tough. It wasn’t to the extent that it tastes nasty or anything but I think stick with pastry flour.
